Seven National Federations are sending their BMX athletes to the World Cycling Centre (WCC) in Aigle, Switzerland, this month to prepare the second leg of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup.
Norwegian BMX rider Sebastian Kartfjord arrived at the WCC yesterday for a week long training camp. Before the end of the month the centre will also host World Cup hopefuls from Italy, the Netherlands, France, Lithuania, Russia and the Czech Republic for training camps lasting between three days and three weeks.
Lithuania’s delegation, Vilma Rimsaite, is no stranger to the WCC facilities: she was a trainee at the centre in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
