All of them will compete in each jump and curve of the 400 meter course to be the winner of Madrid’s spectacular contest.
Spanish Top riders
The Spanish fans will show all their support to the local riders, specially to Pablo Galán and Rafa Álvarez. 26 year old Álvarez has won 6 BMX national championships, while 20 year old and Madrid-born Galán, has been Spanish BMX Champion 8 times. For both of them, riding at home will be an exciting experience.
"Its very important that the World Cup is coming to Spain. This minority sport needs a lot of publicity, and this kind of competition is the right way to support it", says Galán, which is also very well known in Spain because of his role in "Los Serrano", one of the most successful TV series.
Although there will be only one category, Elite Men, junior riders will be allowed to compete with the pros.
Juan Carlos I Auditory is the perfect venue to celebrate the competition because of it’s fabulous placement. It has very good connections with downtown Madrid by bus (numbers 112, 122 and 124), and by Metro (line 8, Campo de Las Naciones Station; and line 5, Canillejas Station).
After Madrid, the BMX Supercross World Cup will have another three rounds. The second one will be in Beijing, at the same venue where BMX will become Olympic in 2008. The last two rounds will be in Salt Lake City (United States) and Fréjus (France).
