UCI BMX Track Building Guide
Today I came across a neat feature in the BMX section of the UCI(International Cycling Union) website, I somehow missed this in the past. The feature is the “BMX Track Building Guide”, it's a real cool looking interface made in flash to explain you how to build a successful BMX track. It has 8 main categories; a jumps catalog, track sample, construction of a bmx track which is devided in 5 subcategories, track content, track shapes, budget, uci rule book and choosing a site to build the track on.
Jumps Catalog
This is a bit obvious, it's a catalog containing all sorts of bmx jumps. From the roller to the pro double, there's even an example of a rhythm section. A side each jump there is a short explanation provided.
Budget
This category contains information about the finance of a bmx track. If you consider building a bmx track I suggest you take a look at this first.
UCI BMX Rule book
As it says "All international BMX tracks must meet the specification set forth in Section VIII in the UCI BMX Rule book, and it's recommended to view the specific rules before constructing a BMX track."
There is also a print feature which comes in handy...
The guide can be found here: BMX Track Building Guide
