Vert BMX Dropped From the X Games

I thought Mat Hoffman said one time after he sold the BS series that he wanted to keep hand in it just enough to prevent this type of thing.......although we all seen the writing on the wall. This would be a good thing in my opinion except when things are on the upswing again ESPN will be right there to swoop down and milk it for all it is worth again. It has been such a load of crap for years by just allowing invites to be a part of it(that was my understanding anyway). Im a flatlander and knew when they threw it to the curb that as soon as interest dropped a little in the other classes they would drop them too although in my opinion flatlanders constant complaints about judging and lack of old style showmanship (which gave spectators a reason to stay and watch) didnt help. Lets all hope bmx becomes better (not necessarily bigger)and get back control of OUR image of OUR sport and not some big network view of how they want to market us and shove it down everyones throat until they puke. I think Mirra is a good guy and on of the best ever but I was even sick of seeing his bad runs getting more coverage than the guys out there kickin ass. That is my two spokes worth,lol.

No, it will always be OUR sport. The show on their stage is not.....look at flatland in Europe and you see they dont need ESPN to be legit and sucessful on their own. It has seemed to have killed it in the US for now.
